Supreme Court sets three execution dates
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The Ohio Supreme Court has set three additional execution dates for inmates on death row, meaning a possible record of eight executions this year.
The court, which has begun regularly setting execution dates in recent months, announced the new dates in a ruling Wednesday
The court set an Oct. 8 execution date for Lawrence Reynolds, 43, of Summit County, sentenced to die for killing an Akron woman in 1994.
The court set a Jan. 7, 2010 execution date for Vernon Smith, 37, of Lucas County.
The court set a Feb. 4, 2010 execution date for Mark Brown, 36, of Mahoning County, sentenced to die for killing a Youngstown store clerk in 1994.
