FREMONT, Ohio (AP) — Hurt by a cut in state funding, the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center will close on Mondays and raise admission prices.
Employees also will take a 10 percent pay cut and work four days a week.
Thomas Culbertson, executive director of the Hayes center in Fremont, says state aid was cut from $452,500 to $281,000.
The museum will close Mondays starting in September. Standard admission for the Hayes House and the Hayes Museum will go up from $6 to $7.50, while a joint ticket for both will go up from $10.50 to $13.
The Hayes Presidential Center is about 35 miles southeast of Toledo. The estate has been open to the public since 1916.
Hayes, a Republican, served from 1876 to 1880.
