1080 wins opener of NABF regional

STRUTHERS — Nick Crum's two-out single in the bottom of the seventh inning scored the game-winning run as 1080 Media defeated MAF Gators 8-7 in the opening round of the NABF Senior Regional baseball tournament on Thursday at Cene Park.

1080 Media sent the game into extra innings by scoring three times in the bottom of the seventh inning. Joe Aulizia had a pair of hits, including a two-run double in the seventh and he scored the tying run on a single by Justin Vrable.

Aulizia had three RBIs while Dan Popio had a single and a double.

Matt Harmon went 61‚Ñ3 innings in relief for the win.

Eric Murphy hit a two-run homer for the Gators and added a single, while Vince Bartolone, Kenny Rundo and Craig Sandt had two hits each.

Ohio Hurricanes 7, Rondinelli Tuxedo 2

Ohio Hurricanes scored twice in three separate innings. Bobby Butvin had three hits while Joe Chiarappa added a single and a double for the winners.

Brett Gaj went 42‚Ñ3 innings for the win, striking out six while Eric Simon allowed just two hits in picking up the save.

Adam Shrodak had three hits while Kyle Vaclav added two for Rondinelli.

NABF Junior Regional

Roth Brothers scored four times in the bottom of the seventh inning to come from behind to defeat MAF Gators 8-7 in an opening round game.

Dan Mioni had three hits and three RBIs, while J.G. Senchak and Ricky Jones had two hits each for Roth.

Mioni drove home two runs in the game-winning rally with a sacrifice fly by Adam Robb tying the game. Mioni then scored the winning run on a wild pitch.

Mike Campbell and Rob Winemiller had two hits each for the Gators.

Toronto Mets 7, Rondinelli Tuxedo 0

The Mets broke open a close 3-0 game with four runs in the seventh inning.

Nick Studer had a triple and a single, while Cooper Stocco added a single and a double to place the Mets .

Ralph Test had a pair of hits for Rondinelli.

Colt Region

Aaron Voelker singled home the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as Center Township came from behind to defeat Tri-T American 2-1 in an opening-round game.

Zach Collins had a single and a double while Jake Hildebrand added two hits for Center.

Joe Malardi tossed a complete game allowing one run on three hits while striking out eight.

Brock Grafton had a RBI double for Tri-T American, which was to face the loser of the Chambersburg (Pa.) and Washington (Pa.) game.

Center played Kiski in a winners bracket game late on Thursday night. The winner of the Chambersburg-Washington game was to play Action Physical Therapy of the Youngstown Class Little b League on Thursday night. That game wasn't comwpleted in time for today's edition.
