Highway Patrol names Lt. Hill as new commander

WARREN — Lt. Marvin E. Hill is the new commander of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Warren Licensing and Commercial Standards Unit after his promotion to the rank of lieutenant this week by Col. Richard H. Collins, patrol superintendent.

Lt. Hill will transfer from the Warren Criminal Patrol Unit where he has served since May 2007.

Lt. Hill began his patrol career in May 1992 and earned his commission the next November. His first assignment was to the Bucyrus Post. During his career with the patrol, Lt. Hill also served at the Warren Post until 2000 when he earned the rank of sergeant and became assistant post commander of the Medina Post. Two years later, he worked at the Hiram Post along the Ohio Turnpike and left three years later to serve at the Canfield Post.

Hill has served as the criminal-patrol supervisor for the Warren District before this promotion.

Among his other career accolades, Lt. Hill was named state, district and post Trooper of the Year in 1999 while serving at the Warren Post.

Originally from Warren, Lt. Hill resides in Leavittsburg with his wife, Lizabeth, and his three sons, Stephen, Evan and Austin. He also has a daughter, Bethany Hixenbaugh, and a stepdaughter, Betsy Little.
