Cancer survivor to receive first symbolic pin

AUSTINTOWN — A SirViBear Cancer Survivorship Awareness Program will be launched at 1 p.m. Feb. 7 at the banquet room of the Harley Davidson Bike Town. 5700 Interstate Blvd., where the first SirViBear pin will be awarded to a local cancer survivor .

The pin was created by cancer survivors Bill and Linda English of Ohio, who wanted to develop a symbol that would not only celebrate their victory, but also would also inspire those still battling the illness.

Following the initial presentation, pins will be given to other local survivors and family members. The pins will also be available in retail locations throughout the country and through the SirViBear Web site.
