Family tree climbing

YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Historical Center will have “Climbing My Family Tree,” an adult/child workshop, from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 14 at 151 W. Wood St.

This family heritage program begins the process of climbing a family tree. Participants should bring family photos and other related items for inclusion in a complimentary family album/workbook.

Adult/child teams learn basic genealogy, discover research methods/sources and ways to find missing ancestors.

The cost is $12 for one adult/child team who are OHS members and $15 for all other adult/child teams. Additional children per team are $5 for OHS members and $7 for nonmembers.

COLUMBUS — Lt. Morris L. Hill Jr., originally from Warren, is the new assistant district commander at the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Bucyrus District Headquarters after his promotion to the rank of staff lieutenant.

Hill will transfer from the Bucyrus Post, where he has served as post commander since November 2001.

Hill lives in Mansfield with his wife, Angela, and their seven children.
