Brothers’ case bound to grand jury

YOUNGSTOWN — The case of two brothers accused of trying to break into a West Side house while a woman and her 2-year-old son were upstairs has been bound over to a Mahoning County grand jury.

Bryandon M. Rutland, 19, and Antwaine H. Rutland, 22, both of Volney Road waived their preliminary hearing today in municipal court, the clerk’s office said. They are charged with attempted burglary and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. Police said they attempted to enter a house in the 1600 block of Price Road on Jan. 14 and guns were found in a car registered to their father. The Rutlands are the sons of city Patrolman Chris Rutland, according to a police report.
