UIn the Feb. 20 newspaper, The Vindicator reported the arrest of Dustin Flick of Canfield on drug charges. After Dustin complained to the newspaper Tuesday that he was not involved in the Feb. 17 arrest as detailed in a police report, police discovered that during the incident, Flick’s brother, Alvin Flick, identified himself as Dustin and was processed as Dustin at the jail. Since Dustin had no involvement in the Feb. 17 incident, the Vice Squad said it will now pursue a falsification charge against Alvin.

UGidget S. Hurst, 36, of Newton Falls, who died from injuries she suffered in a car crash Feb. 8, was pronounced dead Feb. 14, according to her father, Eugene Dittman, but she was kept on life support until Feb. 16 so that her organs could be harvested. A story that appeared in the local section of The Vindicator on Feb. 20 gave the wrong time she was removed from life support.

UJoseph Melfi, 36, arrested for a disturbance at the Chevrolet Centre last week, is the cousin of Girard Mayor James Melfi. A story that appeared on B3 in Tuesday’s editions listed Joseph Melfi as the mayor’s nephew.
