WEDNESDAY

• Benjamin Firestone American Legion Post 290 in Columbiana serves food from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday with the following daily specials: today, wing night, 6 to 9 p.m.; Friday, fish fry, 4 to 7 p.m., all you can eat, $9 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under, meal includes macaroni and cheese, fries, coleslaw and dessert, with takeout available; and Saturday, steak fry from 5-8 p.m. At $14 per person, the meal includes baked potato, salad and Texas toast.

• Canfield Christian Church, 123 S. Broad St., will serve a Lenten breakfast from 7 to 9:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall. A freewill offering will be accepted.

• Girard Eagles 2172 will have a fish fry from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at 23 W. Wilson Ave., in the back hall. The cost is $8, or $5 for seniors. Meals consist of fried or baked fish, french fries or baked potatoes, coleslaw or salad, coffee or tea and desserts. To order takeouts, call (330) 545-6619.

• St. Lucy Church Banquet Center, 394 Tenney Ave., Campbell, is taking orders from 8 to 11 a.m. at (330) 755-2245 for pasta fagioli to be sold from noon to 4 p.m. The cost is $4.50 a quart. Patrons are asked to provide containers. Bread and pizza will be available.

• St. Columba Cathedral will serve Ash Wednesday pasta fagioli meals from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the parish hall on Wood Street. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. Meals include a bowl of pasta fagioli, salad, dessert, and coffee or tea. Pizza will be sold for $1 a slice, and pop for 50 cents a can. Containers will be provided for takeouts. • St. Rose Church, 4 8 E. Main St., Girard, will serve Lenten fish dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. at Rosetta Hall. THURSDAY

• Col. Louis J. Campbell VFW Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Meals will include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $6.50 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

• Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman Poland Road, Poland, will have takeout dinners available from 4 to 6 p.m. (or until sold out) the first Thursday of each month. The cost is $6. No need to preorder or get out of the car. Just drive to the front of the church and your meal of baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans will be ready.

FRIDAY

• Argus Lodge 545, 5050 Shields Road, Canfield, will serve fish dinners from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the fellowship hall. Meals include french fries, coleslaw, rolls, coffee or beverage, and pie. Tickets for a dinner are $8 for adults. Meals of all-you-can-eat fish and fries will be $12. Children eat for half price.

• Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday and from 8 :30 to 11 a.m. Friday at (330) 755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Orders may be picked up until 3:30 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

• Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at (330) 792-1005.

• Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pirogi. The cost for potato or potato with kraut pirogi is $5 a dozen. Orders will be taken from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday at (330) 746-9528. Orders should be placed early and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Hot pirogi lunches will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

• National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 Lipkey Road, North Jackson, will serve fish dinners each Friday during Lent (until April 3) from 3 to 7 p.m. Meals include baked or fried haddock or 21 shrimp, with haluski, soup, coleslaw, bread, dessert and beverage. • Potato and cheese pirogi will be sold at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown. To order, call (330) 799-0084 after 6 p.m. Thursday or after 8 a.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per bag of one dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome, but no sales before 11 a.m. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

• St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pizza and other Italian treats. Orders may be placed by calling (330) 746-9577 from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 1 p.m.

• St. Brendan Church will sponsor a fish dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Fridays during Lent (except April 10) at Maxwell Hall, 144 N. Schenley Ave., Youngstown. Meals are $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Featured will be beer battered, fried, baked or Cajun fish; macaroni and cheese, parsley potatoes, fries or haluski; coleslaw or applesauce; and cake and coffee. • St. Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Ave., will be serving fish dinners on Fridays from 4-8 p.m. Dinners are catered by the Fifth Season and cost $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Meals include fish — fried or baked; or shrimp; and a choice of two sides of french fries or pirogi, haluski, homemade chips or macaroni and cheese; and coleslaw and a roll. • K. of C. Council 13977 of St. Joseph Church, 4565 New Road, Austintown, will serve fish dinners in the church hall from 4-7 p.m. on Fridays during Lent, with the exception of March 20. The cost for adults is $8, and for children under 12, it’s $4. Meals consist of baked or beer-battered fish, macaroni and cheese or fries, coleslaw, rolls, beverage and cake.

• Potato, prune and kraut pirogi will be sold at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. Cost is $4.50 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at (330) 755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

• A series of Lenten fish dinners will be served at St. Lucy Church, 404 Tenney Ave., Campbell, each Friday through April 3 at the church social center. Dinners will be available from 4 to 7 p.m. and will feature fried or baked Cod, french fries, macaroni and cheese or haluski, dessert, and punch or coffee. Tickets are $9 for adults, $8.50 for senior citizens, and $4,50 for children under 12. Takeout orders (adult size only) will be $9 each. Three takeout dinners will be offered as a special for $25.

• St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave., Boardman, will bake Italian-style red and white pizza. Phone orders will be accepted at (330) 788-0025 between 9-11:30 a.m. only. Pickup will be until 1 p.m. Price is $6 for regular or Brier Hill pizza, and $5 for white pizza.

• St. Maron Church will serve fish dinners from 3 to 7 p.m. each Friday during Lent at Antioch Hall, 1555 S. Meridian Road. Meals feature fried or baked haddock, baked cod, fried shrimp, tuna steak and smelts, and a choice of sides (macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, fries or potato pirogi) bread and butter. Cost is $8 and takeouts will be available.

• St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church Parish Center, Fifth Street, Struthers, will have a takeout fish lunch special of fried fish or fish sandwich, coleslaw, and fries from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $6. • St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at (330) 747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Pickup will be by 1:00 p.m. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers and use the side entrance. SATURDAY

• Austintown Band Parents will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 1-7 p.m. Saturday in the Fitch High School Cafeteria, Falcon Drive, Austintown. Featured will be a basket raffle, 50-50 raffle, and a bake sale. Austintown bands will play music all day. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Children under 5 may eat free.

• North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, will sponsor a breakfast buffet from 7 to 10 a.m. The all-you-can-eat meal will feature eggs, pancakes, french toast, potatoes, sausage, breakfast rolls, sausage gravy and biscuits, peppers and onions, juice and coffee. • The Rotary Club of Champion will host an Amish dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Champion Presbyterian Church. • Salem Masonic Temple, 788 E. State St., will sponsor an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet from 7:30 to 10 a.m. The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children 2 to 10 and free for those under 2. • Burton-Middlefield Rotary will be flipping pancakes in March for the 57th year. Beginning March 1 and every Sunday in March, the Rotary will serve pancake breakfasts with real Geauga County Maple Syrup from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Berkshire High School, 14510 N. • The Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve breakfasts of eggs, sausage or ham, hash browns, pancakes, freedom toast, toast, and coffee or tea from 8 a.m. to noon. Meals are $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

TAKING ORDERS

• American Hungarian Club, 2219 Donald Ave., Youngstown, is taking orders for carryout stuffed cabbage. The cost is $12 for a baker’s dozen. • St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 280 Mill Creek Drive, Boardman, will be the site of a benefit spaghetti dinner for the Rev. Hosea Ekong. Sponsor of the event is Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Dinners will be served from 4-7 p.m. March 7, and takeouts will be available. Baked goods will also be for sale.
