Valley Curves helping with annual food drive

POLAND — Mahoning Valley Curves locations are participating in the worldwide Curves 11th annual food drive.

Locations are in Poland, Boardman, Austintown, Girard, Cortland, Niles and Canfield.

The national chain’s last food drive collected more than 19 million pounds of food donated to food banks.

Area Curves, from their beginning, have donated collected food to the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley. Last year, they collected more than 2 tons of food.

The local Curves hope to more than double that amount this year.

Women thinking about joining Curves can bring in a bag of groceries when joining and have the normal service fee waived March 9-28. Those who are not considering joining the club are asked to bring in bags of nonperishable groceries that will benefit the Rescue Mission as well.
