Snow slows traffic in parts of Pa.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Early morning snow has slowed rush hour traffic in southwestern Pennsylvania and prompted the Pittsburgh area’s transit agency to urge riders to catch buses on main streets, instead of unplowed side roads.

About two inches of snow has fallen today with the National Weather Service calling for that to turn to rain as temperatures rise above freezing later in the day.

In other parts of the state, light snow was also causing some problems.

Erie and other parts of northwestern Pennsylvania were told to expect about an inch of light snowfall.

In the Philadelphia area, there were scattered accidents and delays Thursday morning as drivers contended with a light coating of snow and ice.
