AUSTINTOWN — McQuaid’s Everyday Mart on North Meridian Road was held up by two men with a handgun.

An employee said two men entered the business just before 4 p.m. Tuesday and demanded the money from the cash register.

She said both men were wearing black hooded sweatshirts, black sweat pants and red bandannas over their faces. One of the men went behind the counter with a small silver handgun to collect money from the register while the second man stayed at the front of the store, according to police reports.

The employee said the men then ran out of the building and got into a silver, two-door Dodge Stratus where a third man was waiting in the driver’s seat.

The car headed northbound on North Meridian and took the entrance ramp onto Interstate 680 southbound, according to police reports.

About $140 was reported missing from the register.

Police questioned four witnesses at the scene.
