POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:

HUBBARD

Dec. 24

Theft: A Mackey Street woman reported her wallet stolen.

Arrest: The Girard Municipal Court issued a warrant against Jeffrey C. Joint, no information given. He was wanted on a charge of failing to appear in court to face one count of telephone harassment.

Dec. 26

Arrest: Dameon L. Armour of Hubbard was wanted on a warrant from the Girard Municipal Court charging him with failure to comply with police.

Dec. 27

Breaking and entering: Someone entered a building in the 30 block of East Park Avenue, though it was unknown if anything was missing.

Dec. 29

Possible fraud: A Jackson Street man told police he had received two calls from someone in Guam saying he won a lottery, but that he suspected it was a scam.

Theft: A toolbox was missing from N&J Excavating Inc., 844 E. Liberty St.

LIBERTY

Dec. 24

Theft: More than $5,400 worth of tools was missing from a residence in the 5000 block of Logan Arms Drive.

Identity fraud: A Euclid Boulevard man discovered three unauthorized charges, one of which had been conducted online, totaling $783.

Arrest: Mahoning County Jail officials released 21-year-old Erica E. Provitt, 150 E. Philadelphia Ave., Youngstown, to Liberty police. Provitt was accused of failing to appear in court on a theft count.

Dec. 25

Menacing: A Marlane Drive man told authorities a 48-year-old Youngstown man had left threatening and harassing messages.

Theft: A man was seen on a surveillance camera stealing a $600 BlackBerry device from an employee of a Liberty Street motel.

Domestic violence: Officers took custody of a township girl, 16, who was housed at the Trumbull County Juvenile Justice Center after her mother and stepfather alleged the girl had struck them in the face. The man suffered large cuts above his left eye and forehead.

Dec. 26

Arrest: Warren police handed 37-year-old Jermaine L. Mobley, of 3105 Williamsburgh Drive, Warren, to township authorities, who booked him on a warrant.

Harassment: A Ventura Drive woman reported getting several in a series of unwanted calls.

Burglary: In the 30 block of Marla Lane, though police found no signs of forced entry. Stolen were a computer hard-drive tower, a TV and a guitar, for a $2,050 loss.

Dec. 27

Theft: A debit card was missing from a Church Hill Road woman’s purse that she had accidentally left at a Belmont Avenue store.

Dec. 28

Aggravated menacing: A Northview Boulevard man alleged his brother threatened to burn down the accuser’s home during a dispute regarding money owed.

GIRARD

Dec. 29

Arrest: Officers responded to a woman’s being threatened and harassed by her former husband at Girard High School, 31 N. Ward Ave., where they arrested Curtis J. Mann, no information given, on a warrant. Mann, however, was not charged with making the threats.

Arrest: Police placed into custody Lateef Love, of Girard, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant from Geauga County.
