Thursday, December 31, 2009

VIENNA – Thirteen members of the 910th Security Forces Squadron will deploy Sunday morning to Iraq for a six-month tour of duty. The specialists will serve in several security-related duties at Kirkuk Air Base, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. They recently returned from two weeks of specialized training called Patriot Defender at Fort Wolters in Texas. The Ground Combat Skills exercise honed and refreshed the deploying Airmen’s skills needed in today’s expeditionary force. A combination of classroom, practical applications, and military operations urban training culminated in a realistic three-day field training exercise. This is the 910th Security Forces Squadron’s third rotation to Kirkuk AB, Iraq since February 2007.
