Boardman police arrest man after traffic stop

BOARDMAN — A Youngstown man faces four felony charges after a traffic stop.

Dimetrius J. Morris, 25, of McGuffey Road, was in the Mahoning County Jail. He is charged with illegal weapon possession, carrying a concealed weapon, receiving stolen property and trafficking in crack cocaine.

About 11 a.m. Sunday, a township police officer stopped the car Morris was driving at Stanton Avenue and Southern Boulevard. The vehicle’s license plate returned to a different vehicle, a police report said.

Police found a scale, a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana and two bags containing suspected crack cocaine. The officer found a handgun, which had been reported stolen in Youngstown, in Morris’s other pocket, the report said.

Morris’s passenger, Tierra L. McIntosh, 23, of Milwaukee, had an active probation violation warrant from the Mahoning County Sheriff’s office.

She was arrested, too.
