Man robs Walgreens at gunpoint on Christmas Eve

YOUNGSTOWN — A man with a gun robbed Walgreens, 2864 McCartney Road, about 7:55 p.m. Christmas Eve, police said. The robber told a clerk, “Open the drawer or I’ll kill you.” The clerk pulled out the drawer, which the suspect grabbed. He then fired one round into the floor next to the clerk and fled north across the parking lot toward Fincastle Street. The store has video of the incident.

Robbers take cash, phone and TV from center

YOUNGSTOWN — Four males, one with a revolver, forced their way into an Iron and String Life Enhancement site at 937 Cornell, at 9:47 p.m. Christmas Eve. The robbers took $23 in cash, a cell phone and three flat-screen TVs then left in a silver Cadillac. The suspects were wearing skull caps that partially covered their faces.

Iron and String Life Enhancement serves mentally and developmentally disabled individuals in Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
