VILLA MARIA, Pa. —Villa Maria Spirituality and Education Center will begin its monthly ongoing series of morning seminars. “Epiphanies in 2010” is the topic for the Coffee and Contemplation series from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 5. Presenter will be Sister Rose Anne Hanlon.

City Prayer Team

STRUTHERS — Pilgrim Baptist Church, 67 McClure St., will hold its annual Watch Night service at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, New Year’s Eve. The Rev. Lee T. Rucker Jr. is host pastor.

Pastor of church

YOUNGSTOWN — The Rev. Aaron Griffin of Youngstown has accepted the position of pastor at New Hope Chapel Fellowship Interdenom-inational Church in Steubenville.

The Rev. Mr. Griffin had pastored First Baptist Church in Wellsville. He was ordained by the Rev. Roosevelt Tompson.

Christmas concert

BOARDMAN — The music ministry at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7345 Westview Drive, will present its annual Christmas concert at 3 p.m. Jan. 3. Participating in “A Choral Symphony” will be St. Charles adult and children’s choirs and youth orchestra, handbells group, contemporary ensemble and Life Teen music ensemble.

Jacek Sobieski is music director. The concert is free but donations will be accepted.

Gospel event

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — A Southern Gospel concert featuring Squire Parsons, Songsters and True Gospel will be presented from 7 p.m. to midnight Thursday, New Year’s Eve, at Slippery Rock Baptist Church, 435 Keister Road. A free-will offering will be taken.

Radio award

HARTVILLE — Kristine Kuszmaul of Champion was honored recently by a crowd of more than 500 women gathered at Hartville Kitchen for the announcement of the 2009 Vita-Mix “Willing Hands Award” winner.

Kuszmaul was nominated by her husband Paul and was selected among 75 other nominees from around the state. The award is given to a person who has exemplified Christ-like giving through faith, daily actions, and their unselfish giving toward others. The award was presented by 95.5 The Fish Cleveland Radio. She is a mother of three and attends North-Mar Church in Warren.

Concert planned

GIRARD — Unity Church Centre, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, will host the Seraphim Chorus in concert at 7 p.m. Jan. 9. Kris Harper directs the 50-voice group that sings traditional, less formal sacred music and popular favorites. An offering will be accepted.

New Year’s Eve service

YOUNGSTOWN — The Rev. Walter Gillespie, pastor of Church of Faith, will speak on “We’ve Come This Far by Faith” during a New Year’s Eve service at 10 p.m. Thursday at Beulah Baptist Church, 570 Sherwood Ave., sponsored by Shenango Valley Baptist Association.

Consecration services

YOUNGSTOWN — Mount Olive Fire Baptized Holiness Church, 124 W. Marion Ave., will hold consecration services at 10 a.m. Friday, New Year’s Day, through Jan. 12. Elder H. Cobbs is pastor.
