Band students donate scarves

Boardman High School Band members collected money to purchase felt and fleece, and then 35 band members worked more than 12 hours to make 65 felt stockings and 65 fleece scarves for children at the Beatitude House.

“The students learned how to make the stockings and did all the work,” said Len Yovanovich, a band parent who helped coordinate the effort.

Salomon, Siwicki, Yovanovich and Paull (in photo) presented the scarves and stockings to officials from the Beatitude House Dec. 16.

“It’s nice to see that people are still giving,” said Kelly Elko, program director at the Beatitude House.
