A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Liberty and Hubbard:

GIRARD

Dec. 21

Assault: Officers responded to a disturbance near East Kline Street, where a boy reported having been pushed and knocked to the ground.

Burglary: To a residence in the 1100 block of Park Avenue after someone cut a rear window screen. Money was missing.

Assault: A Louis Circle man alleged his daughter’s boyfriend assaulted him.

Recovered property: A Powers Avenue woman found a black bicycle next to a trash bin in her backyard.

Theft: Someone removed a $26 snowman ornament from a yard in the 10 block of Cherokee Drive.

Dec. 22

Breaking and entering: A Girard woman discovered three trailers on her property had been entered. Stolen were 10 steel doors and 10 vinyl windows, for a $4,000 loss.

LIBERTY

Dec. 18

Aggravated menacing: A 12-year-old Green Acres Drive boy reported that while waiting for a school bus, a neighbor threatened to shoot him.

Theft: A woman reported the theft of a $1,000 50-inch, flat-screen TV from her mother’s home in the 5200 block of Logan Arms Drive.

Dec. 20

Arrest: Police took custody of 23-year-old Durell J. Wallace, 719 Delaware St., Youngstown, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant charging him with failure to appear for a violation-of-probation hearing related to another charge.

Theft: A Colonial Drive woman said a former neighbor borrowed but failed to return a pot and pan.

Damage: A plate-glass window was broken at Check Into Cash, 3551 Belmont Ave.

Breaking and entering: Someone broke into a barn in the 2900 block of Anderson-Morris Road, then removed a $600 chain saw and other tools.

Dec. 21

Assault: Officers responded to a Girard woman who said she had been punched in the mouth as she drove near Belmont Avenue. They also arrested 41-year-old Van Darling Jr., 919 Bonnie Brae Ave., Youngstown, on a warrant charging him with disorderly conduct, though he had not been charged in the assault at the time of the report.

Arrest: A traffic stop in the 3100 block of Belmont Avenue led to the arrest of Marlin J. Finkley, 36, of 3080 Dade St., Youngstown. Finkley was wanted on a warrant from Cuyahoga County charging him with failure to appear in court.

Theft/criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 1400 block of Townsend Avenue had a vent window broken before someone stole a global- positioning-system unit and a radar detector.

Possible stolen property: Police pulled over a car on Belmont Avenue and confiscated an unopened bag containing more than $500 worth of DVDs with no receipt, leading them to believe the merchandise may have been stolen.

Theft: A man in the 1900 block of Oriel-Rodgers Road reported an aluminum chipper, a weed trimmer and a grill stolen, for an estimated loss of $3,080.

Dec. 22

Assault: Officers responded to an argument between two employees of a Belmont Avenue business, where one worker said the other had punched him twice before fleeing in a vehicle.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered a garage in the 1900 block of Tibbetts-Wick Road. A 14-inch chain saw was missing.

Theft: Two chain saws were missing from a residence in the 1900 block of Tibbetts-Wick Road, resulting in a $1,150 loss.

Dec. 23

Criminal damaging: A key was used to damage the finish on both sides of a car in the 4100 block of Logan Gate Road. Pieces of its front bumper were on the ground.

HUBBARD

Dec. 18

Possible theft: A Caroline Avenue man found suspicious footprints in the snow near his vehicle and said he believed someone may have tried to enter.

Thefts: Three cars in the 300 and 400 blocks of South Main Street were broken into.

Damage: A Christian Avenue woman found a damaged lock and told police she thought someone may have tried to break in.

Dec. 19

Theft: A man in the 800 block of West Liberty Street reported a set of keys and a cell phone had been removed from his vehicle.

Weapon: A Simler Street woman called police after saying her daughter had been running around the residence with a shotgun. The daughter emerged unarmed, however, and police later retrieved the firearm.

Recovered property: Police near Victor Avenue reported their cruiser was struck by someone in a stolen car, from which three men fled into a wooded area.

Dec. 20

Theft: Items were taken from a vehicle in the 100 block of Clingan Street.
