Tutoring OK’d for March OGT test

During its meeting Monday, the board of education approved a motion recommending a maximum of 60 hours of tutoring for seniors who have not passed at least one section of the Ohio Graduation Test.

Such intervention is to take place before the OGT is given in March, Superintendent Frank Lazzeri noted.

Lazzeri also approved four field trips for high school students that will take place over the next few months.

The Boardman High School band ensemble is to perform Jan. 29-30 at a conference in Cincinnati.

The other three will see qualifying members of the Boardman indoor track team participating in the Indoor Track and Field championships March 11-15 in Boston; high school Drama Guild members will attend the State Thespian Conference between March 19-21 at Ashland University in Mansfield; and the girls track team will take part in the Hilliard Davidson Wildcat Relays, set for April 2-3 in Hilliard, Ohio.
