Dec. 5

Attempted theft: Someone broke a vehicle’s window in the 4500 block of Grover Drive, apparently in an effort to steal property.

Arrest: Authorities responded to reports of someone driving erratically while asleep and arrested 32-year-old Ranika R. Williams, 560 E. Avondale Ave., Youngstown, in the 9600 block of Market Street. She was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Theft: A Campbell girl, 14, was charged in the theft of $89 worth of clothing from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Theft: A $200 mixer was stolen from Wal-Mart, resulting in a charge against 22-year-old Daniel A. Deal, 413 Lyndall St., New Castle, Pa.

Misuse of a credit card: A Meadowbrook Avenue woman found that two unauthorized transactions originating in Yuba City, Calif., had been made to her debit card.

Theft: A woman reported $100 stolen from her while at a Boardman-Canfield Road eatery.

Theft: Someone removed a $1,000 barricade from an area in the 8300 block of Southern Boulevard.

Arrest: Officers responded to a fight at a Market Street motel, where they charged 24-year-old Ronnelle T. Ferrell, 182 W. Hylda Ave., Youngstown, with obstructing official business and resisting arrest. Ferrell refused to allow police conducting a child-welfare check into her room, then became combative as they tried to take her into custody, a report showed. She also was wanted on theft, criminal-damaging and other charges. The child was unharmed, the report said.

Dec. 6

Criminal damaging: Someone drove through a yard in the 1300 block of Barbie Drive and struck a mailbox.

Criminal mischief: Eggs were tossed at a vehicle’s door in the 3900 block of Shelby Road.

Theft: Police charged Bonita Davis-Townsend, 48, of Youngstown, with stealing eight articles of clothing from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road. She admitted to the crime, a report said.

Dec. 7

Attempted theft: Someone rummaged through a truck in the 1800 block of Lynn Mar Avenue.

Forgery: A Columbiana man found out his mother’s signature had been forged to secure a loan at a Market Street car dealership.

Theft: A man returned to his car at a Doral Drive store and discovered several items missing from his wallet.

Criminal trespassing: Officers responded to a possible fight on Mathews Road and charged 34-year-old Thomas L. Cappitti Jr., 1982 Mathews, Boardman, with criminal trespassing. Cappitti, also wanted on a warrant from Struthers, was accused of violating conditions of his bond related to another charge.
