The 4th Annual Elegant String Quartet Christmas Concert will be today at 5 p.m. at Boardman Park. The Elegant String Quartet will be performing a Christmas Concert at the St. James Meeting House. This event is free and open to the public. After the concert, ride through the park to see the display of Christmas lights.

Bake cookies for Santa

Children and their parents can enjoy making cut-out cookies, holiday waffles and crafts at Boardman Park on Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Center. Tickets are available at the park office and cost $5 per Boardman child and $7 for non-Boardman children. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Life is a weaving

Linda Anne Marie Bertanzetti’s will be at the Weller Gallery at Fellowship Riverside Garden’s in Mill Creek Park to demonstrate hand weaving from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday and Dec. 27 and Jan. 3.

Hi-Ya for hunger

Members, students and families of Master Park Martial Arts and members of Bodyworks Women’s Health and Fitness Center are fighting local hunger by raising funds for local charity organizations.

They need your help. Anyone donating $50 or more for the Hi-Ya for Hunger campaign will receive one month of martial arts training at Master Park Martial Arts and 100 percent of your donation will go to the local Salvation Army.

Donations will be accepted at the Master Park Martial Arts International location at 224 Boardman-Canfield Rd. in Boardman.

Candle sales help AIDS foundation

Macy’s department store is teaming up with the Elton John AIDS Foundation for a holiday fundraiser.

Limited edition holiday-scented candles will be sold for $25 at Macy’s nationwide and through macys.com. Proceeds will benefit EJAF’s grant-making initiatives and help bring effective HIV prevention programing to people who are the most at-risk and vulnerable to HIV infection.
