AUSTINTOWN

Nov. 30

Theft: Two unauthorized withdrawals were made from a bank account for $61.25 and $76.01 at the BP gas station, 3602 Mahoning Ave., using a debit card its owner had reported lost to police.

Theft: An Ipod and speaker were stolen from an auto at an apartment in the 1000 block of Fountain Square.

Bad checks: Four bad checks totaling $1,195.31 from another bank were cashed against a Woodforest National City Bank account by the victim’s daughter and another female.

Theft: A wallet was taken from an unlocked vehicle at a home in the 1000 block of Bexley Drive.

Identity theft: A man was a victim of identity theft in the 4000 block of Aspen Drive.

Theft: Police charged a 17-year-old Youngstown boy with a theft from the Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave., and turned him over to his mother. He was caught by a store employee with $31.64 in merchandise he had not paid for.

Auto theft: A 2002 Pontiac Grand am was stolen from the 1000 block of North Meridian Road and located by Youngstown police.

Theft: A resident of the 3000 block of Tall Oak Lane reported that $89.76 had been withdrawn from his bank account by Time Warner Cable, and he is not a customer of the company.

Dec. 1

Criminal trespassing: Police charged Aaron Lee Jones, 39, of 1560 Himrod Ave., Youngstown, with criminal trespassing at Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.

Falsification: Police arrested Christopher A. Pethtel, 18, of 2219 Cherry Hill Drive, Youngstown, for failing to leave Austintown Middle School as instructed by school officials and gave false information about his identity to police. He was reportedly using vulgar language and acting unruly at the school.

Fraud: An Oaktrace man said he paid $29,500 for a piece of land in the 2000 block of North Canfield-Niles Road but later discovered the property already had been sold at a sheriff’s auction.

Theft: A snow plow was taken from 76 Plaza, 5325 Seventy-Six Drive.

Larceny: Police arrested Jason R. Stiner, 25, of 3909 Staatz Drive, Austintown on a warrant from Youngstown for larceny and theft after a traffic stop at South Meridian Road and Elmwood Avenue.

Theft: Police arrested Nicholas Pellice, 30, of 44 Rosemont Ave., Austintown, on a bench warrant in the 4000 block of New Road on a theft charge.

Dec. 2

Fraud: Unauthorized purchases totaling $178.48 were made using the victim’s Visa/debit card at a home in the 5000 block of Baylor Avenue.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made to a woman from an apartment in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Boulevard, with $33.98 withdrawn from her account three times by an ID-protection company that she did not authorize.

Breaking and entering: Entry was gained through an unlocked west door at Window Pain, 3614 Canfield Road.

Arrest: Police arrested Anthony Schaffer, 22, of 4405 Plumbrook Drive, Canfield, on a Portage County warrant for receiving stolen property.

Theft: A ladies’ watch and coins were stolen from a home in the 3000 block of Artmar Drive.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were reported by a resident of the 200 block of Idlewood Road with $129.90 in withdrawals made by a company she did not authorize to make the withdrawals and $120 in overdraft fees because of the withdrawals.

Theft: A total of $36.72 in gasoline was stolen from Country Fair, 1143 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Aggravated menacing: A man reported that while he was walking on North Roanoke Avenue, a man in a vehicle stopped next to him and showed him a gun and told him to give a threatening message to his brother.

Dec. 3

Criminal damaging: A window was broken on a vacant building in the 4000 block of Mahoning Avenue.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at Wal-Mart.

Theft: An Xbox 360, games and a computer were stolen from a home in the 40 block of South Edgehill Avenue.

Theft: A woman’s wallet was stolen at Wendy’s, 27 S. Raccoon Road.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made to a Visa at a home in the 1000 block of South Turner Road.

Theft: A resident of the 100 block of South Main Street paid a man to prepare her tax return but the return was never filed.

Dec. 4

Burglary: A Wii game system was taken from a home in the 30 block of Atlanta Avenue.

Criminal damaging: Six windows in a vehicle were broken at the Babylon, 114 Javit Court.

Domestic violence: A 14-year-old of 595 S. Canfield-Niles Road was arrested for domestic violence.

Dec. 5

Criminal damaging: A window screen and Christmas lights were damaged at a home in the 5000 block of London Drive.

Criminal damaging: A tire was cut at the Babylon, 114 Javit Court.

Criminal damaging: A woman’s car was damaged by a male suspect at the Go Go Cabaret, 5455 Clarkins Drive.

Theft: A leather bag containing a television and movies was stolen from a room at the Fairfield Inn, 801 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: Tonya Johnson, 36, of 167 Hilton Ave., Youngstown, was issued a summons for theft at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal trespassing: Steven Jenkins, 32, of 1764 South Heights Ave., Youngstown, was issued a summons for criminal trespassing at an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West apartments.

Lost or stolen property: A woman reported her wallet lost or stolen at Club Gossip, 1743 S. Raccoon Road.

Burglary: An attached garage was broken into in the 2000 block of South Canfield-Niles Road.Dec. 7

Fleeing and eluding: Police arrested Matthew Kamoda, 22, of 1201 Signature Place for fleeing and eluding and falsification as they attempted to arrest him on a bench warrant from Mahoning County Court No. 4 for failure to appear.

Theft: A man took a pack of cigarettes at Smoker Friendly, 1643 S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: An employee stole $340 from Pizza Pan, 4218 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A video game machine was broken into at Quaker Steak and Lube, 5800 Interstate Blvd.

Dec. 8

Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was damaged at a home in the 200 block of Westminister Avenue.

Theft: $160 in cigars were stolen at UniMart, 850 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: Cash and tools were stolen from an auto in the 200 block of Westminister Avenue.

Theft: Cash and a GPS were stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of Westminister Avenue.

Theft: A 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer was stolen from a home in the 200 block of N. Roanoke Avenue and later recovered by Youngstown police.

Theft: A window was shattered and a purse taken from an auto at a home in the 200 block of Westminister Avenue.

Theft: A lawn ornament, a fence and trees were removed from the property at a home in the 4000 block of Aspen Drive.

Criminal damaging: A window was shattered at a home in the 3000 block of N. Edgehill Avenue.

Fraud: A company made two fraudulent withdrawals totaling $158 from the victim’s bank account at a home in the 1000 block of Northfield Drive.

Dec. 9

Burglary: A window was kicked in at an apartment in the 50 block of Westminister Ave. and televisions, and jewelry were stolen.

Fraud: $383 was fraudulently withdrawn from a credit card owned by a resident of the 80 block of S. Anderson Ave.

Theft: Jaismin Morris, 22, 37 West Heights Ave., Youngstown was arrested for theft at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave. after an employee saw her leave the store without paying for $115 in toys. She was also charged with drug abuse of marijuana, trafficking, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police found 15 bags of marijuana in a purse containing her identification in the trunk of the woman’s vehicle.

Burglary: Several items were taken from an apartment in the 900 block of Compass West apartments.

Dec. 10

Recovered stolen vehicle: A 1989 Buick Park Avenue was recovered in the 1000 block of N. Navarre Avenue.

Theft: A purse left in a shopping cart by its owner was not there when she returned to find it at Wal-Mart. Missing was $350 in cash and three credit cards, along with other identification and a Giant Eagle card.

Burglary: A home in the 3000 block of S. Meridian Road was broken into by forced entry through the rear door. The owner was inside. A man fled on foot.

Theft: OxyContin was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Crum Road.

Theft: A television was stolen from an auto at B&R Wholesale Tire, 116 S. Meridian Road.

Auto theft: A 1999 silver Chevrolet Silverado pickup was stolen from a home in the 1000 block of Paisley Avenue.

Burglary: A 42-inch television was stolen from a home in the 1000 block of Ohltown Rd.

Theft: An AT&T I-phone was stolen at Wedgewood Lanes, 1741 S. Raccoon Road.

Domestic violence: George T. Getsy, 36, of 1787 Lancaster Drive was arrested for domestic violence at his home.

Warrant: Jason Wilson, 27 of 5620 Vassar Ave., Austintown was arrested on a warrant for felonious assault and criminal damaging on North Edgehill Drive.

Dec. 11

Identity theft: An account was opened in the victim’s name at a home in the 200 block of N. Beverly Avenue.

Telecommunications harassment: Calls to Antone’s, 4857 Mahoning Ave. and an employee were reported at the restaurant.

Warrant: Nicholas Stipcianos, 19, of 3837 Oakley Ave., was arrested in the 3000 block of Oakleigh Avenue on a warrant for failure to appear for theft.

Warrant: Gary Tarr, 42, 6336 Elk Road, Canfield, was arrested on a warrant for stolen property at Walgreen’s, 40 N. Meridian Road.

Dec. 12

Theft: A wallet from a purse was stolen at Rulli Brothers, 4331 Kirk Road.

Warrant: Megan Marquis, 25, 1075 N. Union St., Salem was arrested on a warrant for theft at Mahoning Avenue at DeHoff Drive.

Attempted theft: A vent window was shattered on an auto at home in the 1000 block of N. Edgehill Avenue.

Attempted theft: A window was shattered and an auto was ransacked, but nothing was taken at home in the 90 block of N. Navarre Avenue.

Attempted theft: A vehicle window was shattered and the auto was ransacked but nothing was taken at a home in the 100 block of Westminister Avenue.

Theft: The window on a vehicle was shattered and a DVD and receiver were taken in the 50 block of Kenmar Court.

Recovered property: A rear license plate and material stolen from inside a vehicle was recovered at St. Elizabeth’s, 6252 Mahoning Ave.

Vandalism: The Wedgewood Community Center building, 4301 New Road was spray painted.

Fraud: A bank card was used without authorization at a home in the 200 block of Westminister Ave.

Dec. 13

Disorderly conduct: Mark Green, 42, 4113 Westmont Drive, Austintown was issued a summons for disorderly conduct at Mahoning Avenue and South Raccoon Road.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle windshield was damaged at a home in the 5000 block of De Pauw Avenue.

Burglary: An attached porch was entered and an attempt was made to enter the garage at a home in the 300 block of Redgate Lane. Nothing was missing.

Theft: Laundry was stolen from the Wedgewood Coin Laundromat, 4286 New Road.

Theft: A window was broken out of an auto and coins were taken at a home in the 1000 block of N. Edgehill Avenue.
