Angel Food Blessings

YOUNGSTOWN — Crossroads Church, 554 S. Meridian Road, is a host site for the Angel Food Blessings in a Box program that helps reduce the amount spent on groceries each month. The cost is $30 per unit for $75 worth of groceries and includes meats, vegetables, fruit and more. There are no income restrictions or guidelines. Pre-order and prepay with cash, money orders or Ohio Direction Card.

Orders will be taken from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 9, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 5, and 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 11 and 14.

Distribution will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sept. 19.

Mathews band night

VIENNA — The 18th annual Mathews High School band night is planned for 7 p.m. Sept. 16 at the booster field. Participants will be Mathews, McDonald, Mineral Ridge and Western Reserve high schools. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3.50 for seniors and free for children 5 and younger.

Financial program

YOUNGSTOWN — Financial Peace University, a 13-week program taught by Dave Ramsey, has helped more than 750,000 families change their financial future. Crossroads Church, 554 S. Siren testing planned

HERMITAGE, Pa. — The city fire department will conduct its monthly test of the city’s weather-warning sirens at 10 a.m. Thursday. The test will include activation of the Clark, Farrell, Sharpsville, West Middlesex and Wheatland weather sirens. Citizens are asked to disregard the alerting sirens during the test.

Driving workshop

LISBON — Columbiana County Municipal Court has scheduled another free workshop to help drivers either regain their driver’s licenses or get conditional driving privileges.

The event is the fifth offered by Judges Carol A. Robb and Mark A. Frost and the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. It will be from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at the municipal court building, 38832 Saltwell Road.

Three of the people who came to the last workshop at the court in May left with valid licenses, and all the others were given exact information on what they needed to do to get legal.
