Aug. 13
Drug abuse: Police arrested a 28-year-old Canfield man on Carriage Lane on a charge of drug abuse after they found a bag of 2.5 grams of suspected marijuana.
Aug. 15
Drug abuse, paraphernalia: Police arrested a 28-year-old Salem man at South Broad Street and West Main Street on charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia after finding a bag of suspected marijuana and a pack of rolling papers.
Underage alcohol: Police arrested a 17-year-old Salem male and an 18-year-old Canfield man on charges of underage possession of alcohol.
Aug. 17
Theft: A resident in the 100 block of East Main Street said he gave a personal check for $102 to a painter as a deposit to have his house painted and the subject never showed up to do the work and is not returning phone calls.
Drug paraphernalia: Police arrested a 22-year-old Canfield man on charges of drug paraphernalia at Park Royal Apartments, North Broad Street.

Aug. 17
Drug offense: Police arrested a Youngstown man on charges of drug possession at Compass West apartments after finding inside the door handle molding of his vehicle plastic bags of marijuana, crack-cocaine and seven papers folded with cocaine inserts.
Curfew violation: Two males, age 15 and 16, were issued summons for curfew violations at Davis Elementary School, 4302 Maple Ave.
Felonious assault: A woman reported she was chased by another woman with a knife in her hand and then punched in the chest three times as she got into her car to leave at a home in the 5000 block of Baker Street.
Criminal damaging: Landscape lights were damaged at a home in the 4000 block of Selkirk Avenue.
Criminal damaging: Landscape lights were damaged at a home in the 1000 block of Laurie Drive.
Theft: A dish network satellite dish was stolen from an apartment in the 400 block of Wilcox Road.
Theft: A tire and fuel were taken from an auto at a home in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Court.
Telecommunications harassment: A woman made numerous phone calls to a home in the 90 block of Idlewood Road.
Theft: Two wooden 10-foot benches were stolen at Lloyd Elementary School, 5705 Norquest Boulevard.
Menacing: A woman is a suspect in menacing at an apartment in the 3000 block of Mahoning Avenue.
Aug. 18
Trespassing: A woman was arrested for trespassing at the TA Travel Center, 5400 Seventy-Six Drive.
Auto theft: A 1989 Chevrolet truck was stolen from the Galilee Apostolic Church, 4009 Elmwood Ave., and later recovered in Youngstown.
Breaking and entering: A shed was broken into at the Galilee Apostolic Church, 4009 Elmwood Ave., and a 48-inch John Deere mower was stolen.
Theft: Chrome solar lawn lights were stolen from a home in the 3000 block of Starwick Drive.
Theft: A black steel mailbox was stolen from a home in the 5000 block of Norquest Boulevard.
Fraud: A woman’s bank account was fraudulently charged $59.98 for a hair product she ordered from a television ad instead of the $14.99 she was supposed to be charged for a 30-day trial, at a home in the 400 block of Wilcox Road.
Criminal damaging: A landlord had his house toilet-papered and a screen damaged at a home in the 3000 block of North Roanoke Avenue.
Fraud: Unauthorized transactions of $14.99 a month had been made since February to a credit card account but never authorized by the victim at a home in the 70 block of Viall Road.
Aug. 19
Criminal damaging: A window to a residence was damaged at an apartment in the 900 block of Compass West Apartments.
Fraud: Unauthorized purchases were made on a debit card at a home in the 7000 block of Berry Blossom Drive.
Attempted burglary: A bedroom window was broken into at an apartment in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Drive.
Vandalism: Sugar was put into the gas tanks of vehicles at Mr. Rooter, 5411 Mahoning Ave.
Breaking and entering: A garage was broken into and several tools were stolen at a home in the 4000 block of Westgate Boulevard.
Attempted theft: A male teenager attempted to take a UPS package off a porch at a home in the 5000 block of Baylor Avenue.
Theft: A man was seen taking money from the tip jar at Coldstone, 5549 Mahoning Ave.
Breaking and entering: A shed was entered and a Craftsman weed trimmer and leaf blower were taken at a home in the 4000 block of South Edgehill Avenue.
Theft: $72.32 in fuel was stolen at Country Fair, 1143 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Theft: A bicycle was stolen from the Austintown Library, 600 S. Raccoon Road.
Criminal damaging: A rock was thrown through a window at Victor Organ Co., 5340 Mahoning Ave.
Recovered property: A Schwinn mountain bicycle was recovered in the 1000 block of North Roanoke Avenue.
Identity theft: A woman told police her sister stole her driver’s license and then cashed checks on their mother’s account and forged her signature at a home in the 3000 block of High Meadow Drive.
Criminal damaging: A window was shattered to a vehicle at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A woman is a suspect in a theft at Dots, 6000 Mahoning Ave.
Criminal damaging: Landscape lights were damaged at a home in the 5000 block of Robert Frost Drive.

Disorderly conduct: A man was issued a summons for disorderly conduct at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Criminal damaging: A lamppost light was damaged at two homes in the 1000 block of Lancaster Drive.
Theft: $500 was taken by deception at Komara Jewelers, 3649 Canfield Road.
Theft: 120 Valium pills were stolen at Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.
Vandalism: Heavy damage was reported to a room at the Super 8 Motel, 5280 Seventy-Six Drive.
Vandalism: Two windows were broken at Davis Elementary School, 4302 Maple Ave.
Theft: A woman was arrested for theft and a man for complicity at Walgreen’s, 5501 Mahoning Ave.
Disorderly conduct: A 14-year-old male was issued a summons for disorderly conduct for a loud stereo at a home in the 2000 block of N. Main Street.

Curfew violations: Two 14-year-old boys were issued summonses for curfew violations at Ohltown Road and North Canfield-Niles Road.
Assault: A man and a woman were assaulted by an unknown male at Chipper’s Lounge, 5 N. Edgehill Ave.
Drug offense: A Youngstown man was issued a summons at Meridian Road and Mahoning Avenue for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Receiving stolen property: A McDonald man was arrested on charges of resisting arrest, receiving stolen property and possession of criminal tools. A male passenger in his car from Indianapolis, Ind. was arrested on a warrant for criminal mischief at Oakwood and Carnegie avenues.
Breaking and entering: A shed was broken into at a home in the 200 block of South. Navarre and a weed trimmer was missing, but later recovered in the yard.
Telephone harassment: A male and female are accused of making harassing telephone calls at a home in the 4000 block of Nantucket Drive.
Auto theft: A 1986 GMC Safari was stolen and recovered in the first block of North Edgehill Avenue.
Menacing: A 16-year-old and 17-year-old females were arguing over text messages at Speedway, 4401 Kirk Road.
Burglary: A basement window was broken at a home in the 100 block of Russell Avenue.
Drug offense: Two people were arrested at Golden Food Mart, 4290 New Road. An Austintown man was charged with resisting arrest, and another Austintown man was charged with resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and dangerous drugs, Vicodin.
Theft: A bicycle was stolen from a home in the 3000 block of Cannon Road.
Theft: A window was broken and a purse stolen from an auto at Cracker Barrel, 5600 Interstate Blvd.
Criminal trespassing: A woman was issued a summons for trespassing at Pilot Oil, 1150 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Aug. 23
Drug offense: A Warren man was charged with suspected crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and obstructing official business at North Canfield-Niles Road and County Line Road.
Resisting arrest: A man was charged with resisting arrest at a home in the 4000 block of Lanterman Road.
Theft: Tools were stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.
Telephone harassment: A man is accused of telephone harassment at an apartment in the 6000 block of Callaway Circle.
Theft: Four tires and alloy wheels were stolen from an auto at a home in the 3000 block of South Edgehill Avenue.
Attempted theft: Two women attempted to cash a stolen check at National City Bank, 4949 Mahoning Ave.
Drug offense: A Niles woman was charged with possession of a large amount of marijuana, a scale and money and was charged with trafficking in marijuana at N. Meridian Road and Crum Road.
Attempted breaking and entering: Door locks were drilled at a home in the 3000 block of South Raccoon Road.
Theft: A wallet was taken from an auto at a home in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Court. All items in it were recovered except the money.
Felonious assault: A man was arrested after a juvenile was intentionally struck with a vehicle in the 200 block of North Roanoke Avenue.
Breaking and entering: Tools were stolen at a home in the 3000 block of Oakleigh Ave.
Theft: Jewelry was taken at a home in the 2000 block of Westminister Avenue.
