Final air permit issued by Ohio EPA to V&M Star

YOUNGSTOWN – The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a final air permit to V&M Star for a possible expansion of its operations. The agency held a public hearing in February to gather input about the company’s proposed expansion.

The air permit establishes limits on emissions and the operation, and requires the use of best available control technology to restrict emissions. The permit decision can be appealed to the Environmental Review Appeals Commission within 30 days.

V&M Star has said it has delayed a decision on the expansion because of the slowdown in the economy.
