Phantoms fall in overtime

MASON CITY, Iowa — A four-goal lead was not enough for the Mahoning Valley Phantoms as the Wenatchee Wild rallied for a 5-4 overtime victory at the North Iowa Ice Arena.

Brandon Saad, Alex Lippincott, George Saad and Michael Pateras netted goals for the Phantoms. Goaltender Jordan Tibbett made 33 saves.

The Phantoms are 2-0-1 in the round-robin portion of the North American Hockey League’s Robertson Cup Tournament. They resume play on Friday at 4 p.m. against the defending champion St. Louis Bandits.
