Southington man, Ravenna woman die from injuries in car-van crash

RAVENNA — The Ohio State Patrol said two people died of injuries suffered in a car-van crash on state Route 5 in Charlestown Township, Portage County.

James J. Davis, 39, of Southington, a passenger in the car driven by Louise M. Davis, 33, of Southington, and Marilyn L. Hutson, 85, of Ravenna, a passenger in the van driven by Melody L. Hutson, 51, of Ravenna, both died in Metro Health Hospital, where they were taken by helicopter after the 2 p.m. Monday accident.

Six other passengers in the two vehicles were also injured.

Police said the van appeared to make a left turn into the path of the car. No charges have been filed.
