State fire marshal investigators at scene of Warren group home fire


WARREN — Division of State Fire Marshal investigators continue their investigation of an early morning fire at a group home here.

At this time, the origin and cause of the fire are undetermined.

Three residents were seriously injured and transported to hospitals, according to a fire marshal press release. A police officer, attempting to rescue the occupants, also was seriously injured and taken to the hospital. The status of all four is unknown at this time.

Investigators also are conducting interviews with the group home’s owner, other witnesses and first responders.

Smoke detectors were present and did function at the home at Bonnie Brae and Woodland.

The state has sent two fire investigators, one accelerant detection canine, one fire code enforcement inspector and one supervisor on the scene.

Warren fire and police also are assisting in the investigation.
