BOARDMAN — The Mahoning Valley Thunder today announced on its Web site that Mike Hold has been relieved of his head coaching duties after a 1-4 start to the 2009 campaign.

Defensive Coordinator Brennen Booth takes over as interim head coach. Booth and Mahoning Valley travel to Albany Saturday night to take on the division rival Albany Firebirds. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.

Hold finishes his Thunder coaching career with an 11-26 record over two and a quarter seasons. Booth takes the reins after beginning the season as the Thunder’s defensive coordinator and offensive line coach. Booth will continue to handle those duties as well as the head coaching responsibilities.
