Athena tickets

STAFF REPORT

YOUNGSTOWN — Thirty women have been nominated for this year’s ATHENA awards dinner.

The program will be at 6:30 p.m. May 21 at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman. The cost of the event is $45 per person or $360 per table of eight.

For more information, contact Jennifer Mascardine at (330) 744-2131, ext. 12. Reservations made prior to May 13 will receive tickets in advance; otherwise, tickets may be picked up at the registration table that evening. No refunds will be made after May 13.

This award dinner, co-sponsored by the Regional Chamber and The Vindicator/vindy.com, recognizes area business and professional women who have demonstrated excellence in their chosen career, provided leadership in the community and mentored or contributed to the growth of other professional women.

Connie Schultz, Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist for The Plain Dealer and Creators Syndicate, will be the keynote speaker. Schultz won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Commentary for what the judges called her “pungent columns that provided a voice for the underdog and the underprivileged,” a common theme in her work.
