POLAND — Howland senior Nicole Pachol added two more meet records to an already terrific track season, winning the 100-meter hurdles and 300 hurdles at Saturday’s Poland Invitational.

Pachol’s time of 14.79 in the 100 hurdles edged the previous record of 14.84, set by Hudson’s Lauren Echko in 2005.

It was also six-tenths of a second faster than Chaney sophomore Shatasia Walker, who placed second.

In the 300 hurdles, Pachol’s 44.77 beat the eight-year record of North Royalton’s Jenny Fascione (44.90) and was 21‚Ñ2 seconds faster than second-place Samantha Eberman of Twinsburg.

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy cruised to the girls team title with 104 points, edging Twinsburg (69).

Fitch was third with 52 points.

The Falcons won the 4x400 relay with a team of Taylor Entzi, Lindsay Koontz, Jen Shiley and Kaity Shiley.

Cleveland Rhodes senior Mahagony Jones won three events, setting a meet record in the 100 with a time of 11.88 (Liberty’s Jasmine Smith held the previous mark of 12.0, set in 2003) while cruising in the 400 (which she won by more than three seconds) and anchoring the winning 4x200 relay.

Jackson-Milton senior Samantha Hamilton had a good day, winning the 1600 with a time of 5:10.66 and finishing second in the 3200.

In the field events, Fitch sophomore Ali Tolich won the shot put and finished second in the discus, while Boardman junior Valerie Hood won the discus and finished second in the shot.

Maplewood sophomore Jordan Moxley jumped 5 feet, 4 inches in the high jump to win the event, edging Howland sophomore Nia Grant on jumps.

Moxley, who won an indoor state title in the high jump, also placed in the top six in the long jump, the 300 hurdles and the 200.

Harding sophomore Ja’Quana Threats won the long jump, finished second in the 400 and helped the Raiders place third in the 4x200 relay.

On the boys side, Twinsburg easily won the team title with 120 points — more than double second-place Warren Harding (56 1/2). Canfield was third with 531‚Ñ2.

Crestview senior Jakob Leon cleared 6 feet, 10 inches in the high jump to break the meet record of 6-8, set by Boardman’s Andy Crogan in 2001.

Leon, who has already cleared 6-11 this spring, won the event by eight inches.

Lakeview senior Ben Moody won a fast 110 hurdles final with a time of 14.15, edging Harding’s Mitchell Seawood and Boardman’s Caleb Matthews.

Liberty senior Fitzgerald Toussaint ran a blistering 10.86 to cruise in the 100, easily edging Fitch junior Te’John Lawrence (11.17).

Toussaint, who won a state indoor title in the 60 in March, also anchored the third-place 4x100 relay, which included fellow University of Michigan football recruit Isaiah Bell.

A third Michigan recruit, junior Antonio Kinard, joined Bell on the sixth-place 4x200 relay.

Poland senior Robert Balzano won the 400 by almost two seconds and helped the Bulldogs place second in the 4x400 relay.

Lakeview seniors Tyler Ames and Heath Harris finished 2-3 in the 3200.

Canfield senior Dustin Brode, an indoor state champion in the weight throw, won the shot put by more than three feet and placed third in the discus.

Harding senior Jarrelle Butts won the long jump. Matthews placed second.
