AKRON — Erin Gabriel pitched a perfect game with 13 strikeouts for Poland in the Rock-In Fire Classic at Firestone Park. Gabriel is 5-1. Jenna Modic had double, single and three RBIs for Poland.

Poland 4, Newcomerstown 1

AKRON — Jenna Modic pitched a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts for Poland, She had a perfect game going into the sixth inning. Modic is 5-0. Karah Pierce had two doubles and two RBIs and Erin Gabriel a double, single and two RBIs to also lead Poland (10-1).

Lakeview 3, Liberty 2

LIBERTY — Abby Bensing struck out 12 in a complete-game four-hitter, and Lakeview (4-5) scored the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh inning. Angela Farone led off the inning with a single, went to second on a Bensing’s groundout and scored on a double by Mackenzie Palette. Palette finished with three hits, while Farone had two, including a double. Bensing singled twice Alison House struck out three for Liberty (4-3) in a complete game.

Boardman 7, Springfield 5

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Brooke Meenachan hit two doubles and Alyssa Petras had a pair of singles to lead Boardman in a non-league game. Julie Sokol, the winning pitcher, also tripled. Andria Lyons had three hits to lead Springfield (7-5), while Jessica Evan singled twice, driving in a pair of runs.

Girard 10, Campbell 0

GIRARD — Emily Smerchansky’s two hits drove in a run and she scored twice to lead Girard. Wining pitcher Samantha Chase (1-0) tossed a three-hitter, striking out six and walking two. Chelsea Guerrieri drove in two runs for the Indians (5-4, 4-2 All-American Conference White Tier). For Campbell, Erica Melnick’s two hits included a double.

South Range 4, East Palestine 0

NORTH LIMA — Sophomore Madison Yanek hit a two-run double and a run-producing single for the Raiders (7-4, 5-2). Yanek (6-3) also pitched the complete game, yielding just two singles to the Bulldogs (5-7, 1-6).

Warren JFK 13, Chaney 0

YOUNGSTOWN — Morgan Miaguado (2-0) pitched a one-hitter and went 3-for-4 for the Eagles. In a 13-hit attack, Rachel Pico went 3-for-3 for JFK.

Western Reserve 1, Jackson-Milton 0

NORTH JACKSON — Kailyn Mowery’s bunt scored Maggie Stubbs who had tripled with the only run of the game in the second inning to give Western Reserve the win. Maggie Srock pitched a three-hitter with 13 strikeouts to best Lindsey Knipps who tossed a five-hitter with six strikeouts. Srock is 6-2. Sissy Stubbs had two singles for Western Reserve (8-2, 7-0 ITCL Tier Two). J-M is 5-2 in the loop.

Mooney 12, GlenOak 0

MASSILLON — At the Tigertown Invitational Tournament, Annamarie Calo had two hits, scored twice and drove in a run for the Cardinals (8-3).

Southeast 7, Coventry 2

COVENTRY — The Pirates (8-0) opened a 6-0 lead in the third inning and rode the three-hitter of Shannon Hamilton (6-0).

LaBrae 8, Brookfield 1

LEAVITTSBURG — Chelsea Hartman had triple and single and Kelsie Daniel had two singles for LaBrae (4-4, 3-1 AAC). Chelsie Hartman and MaKenzie Blaney combined to pitch a three-hitter for the Vikings. Brookfield is 1-10 and 0-5 in the AAC.

Lowellville 6, Crestview 5

NEW WATERFORD — The Rockets (9-3) rallied from a 5-1 deficit with three runs in the sixth and one in the seventh, then scored the winning run in the ninth. Gina Stouffer led off by reaching on an error, then went to second on Cori Pavlicko’s single. Stouffer then scored on Shawna Dowell’s hit. In the bottom of the ninth Pavlicko retired the side in order. McDowell finished with two doubles and a single, while Kayla Maszczak doubled and singled and had two RBIs. Stephenie Gruber and Pavlicko both singled twice. Jen Houge led Crestview (2-7) with three hits, including a triple and a double, while Kelly Peppel added two singles and two runs. Pavlicko (9-3) struck out 12. Corrie Sodergren had eight strikeouts for the Rebels.
