Canfield 7, Howland 4

CANFIELD — Dan Banna hit a three-run homer in the first inning and Canfield went on to its 10th straight win. Jake Kucek added a triple and two RBIs for the Cardinals (10-0, 2-0 AAC), while winning pitcher Jared Turocy hit a double. Turocy (3-0) went the first six innings, striking out seven, before giving way to Kucek in the seventh. Matt Preston and Jared Kirin had two hits each for the Tigers, and Justin Suddeth hit a double.

Massillon Perry 12, Fitch 7

MASSILLON — Trailing 9-1 in the sixth inning Fitch rallied for six runs, but it wasn’t enough to defeat Perry in Federal League action. Jordan Endsley had two hits including a double, while Anthony Koch, Nick Crum and Chris Miller all added to hits for the Falcons (5-4, 3-3). Tyler Vitullo drove in three runs for the Falcons.

Girard 10, Campbell 2

GIRARD — Patrick Rhodes pitched a six-hitter with eight strikeouts and David Gainey slammed a double and two singles and drove in one run to lead Girard (5-3, 3-3 AAC). Tony Cardiero had two singles and three RBIs and Aaron Jennings three singles and two RBIs for the Indians, who had 11 hits. Campbell (5-3 and 2-1) committed six errors.

Lakeview 16, Liberty 0

CORTLAND — Sam Jenkins threw a five-inning, two-hit shutout, and Mike Pasternak had three hits and two RBIs to lead Lakeview (3-6, 3-0 AAC). Two of Pasternak’s hits were doubles. Jenkins also hit a double and single, and drove in two runs, while Justin Misterka hit two singles and had two RBIs. Robert Franks added two hits and Anthony Franko had a double, while Nick Massacci and David Hunter each drove in three runs. Matt Britton hit a double and Ryan Halicki had a single for Liberty (2-8, 2-5).

South Range 11, East Palestine 1

EAST PALESTINE — Vince Miller rapped a double and single and drove in four runs and also pitched a seven-hitter to lead South Range (5-8, 3-3 ITCL Tier One). Chris Gause contributed two singles and three RBIs and Andy Lacefield three singles one RBI to also pace the Raiders, while Bill Arsuffi added a triple and double and Mike Thorpe two singles. East Palestine is 3-6.

Hubbard 16, Salem 6

NILES — Tim Schiraldi tripled, doubled twice and drove in six runs for the Eagles (7-6, 4-0). Salem (1-9, 0-4) led 4-2 in the second before the Eagles tallied 12 times in innings 4-5-6.

Coventry 3, Southeast 0

COVENTRY — Coventry (4-9, 3-3) did all its scoring in the first inning. Anthony Clanci doubled and singled for the Pirates (1-7, 0-6)

Western Reserve 6, Jackson-Milton 0

BERLIN CENTER — Nick Timko (3-1) pitched a complete-game shutout and homered and doubled for the Blue Devils. Derek Rummel doubled for Jackson-Milton.

North Canton Hoover 14, Boardman 13

NORTH CANTON — Justin Simm had a bases-loaded single to drive in the tying and winning runs in the last of the sixth inning for North Canton Hoover (7-5, 2-3 FL). Simm also had a two-run homer and triple to finish with five RBIs, while Andrew Desrosiers had three-run homer, two triples and four RBIs to aid the Vikings. Dan Popio had a three-run homer, double, single and four RBIs for Boardman (9-3, 3-1).

LaBrae 7, Brookfield 1

BROOKFIELD — Greg Gibson pitched a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts while Todd Collins had a double, single and one RBI and Alex Warne two singles to lead LaBrae (3-5, 2-2 AAC Blue Tier).

Ursuline 13, Struthers 11

STRUTHERS — The hitters had so much fun at Cene Park they played an extra inning. Ursuline outscored the Wildcats 5-3 in the eighth to win a slugfest that was actually scoreless after three innings. Dave Rossi led the Irish (5-2) with a triple and a double, and he had three RBIs. Paul Kempe added a double, while Shawn Roman and Dan Baco both singled twice. Allen Byers hit a two-run single for Ursuline in the eighth inning. Kempe, who came on the mound in the sixth inning, picked up the win. Gary Yemma had four hits, including a triple, for Struthers (6-5). Dylan Duchek also had a triple and three RBIs, while Joe Balog doubled. The teams combined for 22 hits.

Lisbon 7, Sebring 3

LISBON — Kyle Weinstock hit a three-run homer and Russell McCullough added three hits, all singled, to lead Lisbon. Dustin Borg hit a pair of doubles for the Blue Devils (4-9), while Matt Wilson singled twice. Zak Bell (2-1) pitched six innings, striking out three. Allen Jurica had three singles for Sebring, while Steve Rastetter hit a homer and triple.

Youngstown Christian 6, Jefferson County 1

YOUNGSTOWN — Pat Durkin pitched a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts while David Suszczynski had two singles and two RBIs to lead Youngstown Christian at Pemberton-Donnell Park. Youngstown Christian is 4-1, Jefferson County 0-5.

Chaney 11, McDonald 6

YOUNGSTOWN — Kevin Boris rapped four hits while Ed Rovnak and Matt Franklin added two apiece to lead Chaney past previously-unbeaten McDonald. Dustin Guyer and Cico Morales combined to pitch a five-hitter for the Cowboys (3-8). Mike Gatta and Zach Puntel had key hits for McDonald (8-1).
