YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown Mothers of Twins Club crowned Frannie Higgins its “Mother of the Year” during a special dinner at Scacchetti’s Restaurant in Boardman.
Higgins has been a member of the club for 16 years and has chaired and served on many committees.
She will represent the local organization as the “2009 Mother of the Year” at the Ohio Federation Mothers of Twins Convention on June 26 and 27 in Canton.
Higgins and her husband, Steve, have four children, including their 16-year old fraternal twins, Stephen and Michele.
They live in Boardman, where they are members of St. Charles Church.
Although she is employed full time, Higgins has found time to volunteer in various capacities within the Boardman school system.
She has participated as a homeroom mother and has accompanied the Boardman band and orchestra on field trips.
She has also volunteered as a Cub Scout den mother and assisted as a Brownie leader.
