NILES — In the opener, Maddie Griffiths hit two doubles for the Bluejays (5-2). Also with two hits were Shannon Ricketson and Cat Keck, Jen Kolasky also doubled. For the Red Dragons (4-5), Danielle Nerringer’s two hits included a double. Lindsey Dodgson also had two hits. In Niles win, Aubrey Hale (1-2) tossed a three-hitter and Berringer hit a RBI single. Griffiths had two of the Bluejays’ hits.
Liberty 12, Chaney 2
LIBERTY — Winning pitcher Renee Dutton struck out 11 and walked one for the Leopards (4-2). Dutton and Elysam Raib doubled. Gina Chuppa’s three singles drove in two runs.
Youngstown Christian 9, Campbell 4
LOWELLVILLE — Caylin Hayes had two hits for the Eagles (2-6). Kristi Cooper doubled and scored.
Mooney 13, East 1
BOARDMAN — Kelcie Herberger pitched a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts. She added a triple and a double in Mooney’s easy win over East. Christina Hrehor had two doubles for the Cardinals (5-2, 2-0 Steel Valley6).
Mooney 3, Struthers 2
BOARDMAN — Margo Ucchino, Herberger and Macy Ucchino all had RBI singles in the third inning and sophomore Jamie Clausen made the lead stand up as Mooney improved to 6-2. Both of Struthers’ runs came on solo home runs by Wynter Wasilewski and Dana Mathews.

BOARDMAN — Sophomore Cadi Sheffler, in her first varsity start, pitched a one-hitter and the Cardinals (7-2) backed her with 15 hits. Shayla DeCapita had three hits and five RBIs, while Macy Ucchino added three hits and scored three runs and her sister Margo had two hits and three RBIs. Herberger doubled and tripled.
Howland 14, Beaver Local 0
HOWLAND — Abby Nicholas struck out 10 and didn’t walk a batter. She also cracked out two hits including a double and drove in two runs for Howland. Sam Jaques, Erika Nites and Olivia Nicholas all drove in two runs for the Tigers (8-3).
Southeast 12-6, West Branch 0-0
BELOIT — Southeast (6-0) remained undefeated by sweeping a double header from West Branch. Kayla Williams scattered four hits in the opener as Shannon Hamilton ripped out a triple and a home run and Payten Boston added three singles. In the second game, Hamilton allowed just three hits and also banged out two hits including a double, while Tricia Williams also had a pair of safeties for the Pirates.
Struthers 4, Mentor 0
STRUTHERS — Ellen Becker pitched a three hitter while Nicolette Demyan and Jackie Deem had the Wildcats’ hits. Each drove in two runs as Struthers improved to 5-7.
Jeromesville Hillsdale 2, Ursuline 1
ASHLAND — Hillsdale pushed across the winning run in the last of the seventh inning after the Irish led 1-0 after three frames. Kasey Foley doubled for the Irish and Jenn Moore doubled for Hillsdale.
Ursuline 10, Loudonville 1
ASHLAND — In a five-run game in the Wendy’s Classic, the Irish (8-2) collected 10 hits. Sarah Ingalls homered, Kasey Foley tripled and Malikka Caige doubled for Ursuline.
Springfield 9, West Holmes 6
LANCASTER — Springfield scored eight runs in the sixth inning and rallied past West Holmes in the Lancaster Softball Classic. Breanne Mincher had two triples.
Springfield 4, Toledo Waite 0
LANCASTER — Ashley Davis struck out 11 and pitched a one-hitter. Andria Lyons and Rebecca Evans each had two hits and Morgan Fagnano added an RBI triple.
Pickerington Central 5, Springfield 4
LANCASTER — Lyons had three singles and Mincher added a double, but Springfield couldn’t overtake Pickerington. Shana Dittoe had a three-run homer for the winners. Springfield is 6-4.
Malvern 10, Sebring 7
SEBRING — Dani Seidel and Chantel Fox each drove in two runs, but Sebring fell to Malvern.
St. Thomas 8, Sebring 7
SEBRING — St. Thomas scored all eight runs in the second inning. Sebring battled back to make a game as Emily Dickens had two hits and drove in four runs. The Trojans are 4-6.
Lowellville 13, Youngstown Christian 0
LOWELLVILLE — Gina Stouffer’s three hits included a double and scored she twice for the Rockets. Cori Pavlicko tossed a one-hitter, striking out 10 and walking one. Kayla Maszczak and Shawna McDowell also doubled while Pavlicko tripled. Carly Hartman had the Eagles’ hit.
