Man sentenced to death for two murders

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A man who shot two workers dead at the suburban Philadelphia warehouse where he formerly worked has been sentenced to death for each murder.

Bucks County District Attorney Michelle Henry says capital punishment is “the only just verdict” for 33-year-old Robert Diamond.

Defense lawyer Barnaby Wittels argued that Diamond’s mental illness was behind the shootings. He called Friday’s sentencing a “travesty of justice” and “against the law.”

Diamond killed 46-year-old Angel Guadalupe of Falls Township and 52-year-old Reginald Woodson of Willingboro, N.J., on Aug. 1.
