Woman run over by car at Youngstown shooting scene

YOUNGSTOWN — A shooting on the city’s South Side around 11:30 a.m. today resulted in a woman being run over by a car.

Police said one to two shots were fired from a white Ford Expedition at a white Buick Le Sabre on the 400 block of Evergreen Avenue.

“We found one shell casing,” Patrolman Russell Davis said.

The woman and her boyfriend, whose names have not been released, were in the Buick. The woman got out of the car when the shots were fired and was run over by the front tire of the Buick, Davis said.

The incident stemmed from a drug deal Thursday night, he said.

The woman was sent to St. Elizabeth Health Center with minor injuries and complaints of soreness.
