Wishes to be granted following fundraiser

YOUNGSTOWN — More than $94,000 was raised at the third annual Make-A-Wish Foundation Casino Night on March 20 at the Chevrolet Centre.

Proceeds from the event will be used to grant the wishes of eight local children battling life-threatening medical conditions.

The Casino Night featured food, music, and professional gaming tables staffed by volunteer celebrity dealers. A 20-person barbecue, donated by Matt Baird and Hogs Gone Wild, raised $1,500 during a live auction.

The title sponsor was UAW-GM, and supporting groups included National City, Brilex Industries, Butler Wick, the Muransky companies, Mix 98.9, and WKBN Caring for Our Community.
