The ribbon-cutting ceremony Sunday at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School, 2724 Mariner Ave., Youngstown, marked the opening of the 11th of 15 new and renovated structures in the Youngstown City School District.
Open house: An open house is planned from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School. The event will feature a scavenger hunt. For $3, you can become a member of Parents as Partners. A membership drive is under way, and the class who gets the highest number of memberships will get a pizza party.
MLK Jr. Elementary School details: The school was built for 352 pupils, has 54,000 square feet and cost $8.5 million.
