Hodos anniversary is celebrated at buffet dinner

• BOARDMAN — Mr. and Mrs. Richard S. Hodos Sr., 7409 Jaguar Drive, received a papal blessing on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary, and the event was celebrated Sept. 20 during a buffet dinner at Davidson’s Restaurant in Youngstown.

The former Rosemary M. Susor and Mr. Hodos were married on that date in 1958 at St. Dominic Church, Youngstown. They are members of St. Christine Church.

They are the parents of Rick Hodos, Gregory Hodos, Stephanie Hodos and Kathy Thompson, all of Boardman.

Mrs. Hodos is a choir member, cantor and member of bereavement ministry at St. Christine’s. She is also a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Bishop McFadden 1650 and the Seraphim Chorus. She was employed by Ohio Bell Telephone Co. in long distance, traffic assigning and the district office for 10 years before resigning in 1963 and was a switchboard operator for 17 years at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown prior to retiring in 1996. She has won many blue ribbons at Canfield Fair for crewel embroidery, crocheting and baking, including two Best of Show awards.

Mr. Hodos retired in 1985 from the Campbell Works of Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co., where he was employed as a crane repairman, and afterward worked as grounds supervisor with Mahoning County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmentally Disabled Services until retiring in 1996. He is a member of the Sokol and Jednota clubs.
