YOUNGSTOWN — Crystal Jones, grants director for Humility of Mary Health Partners, was appointed as the state representative for the American Association of Grant Professionals. A Leetonia resident, Jones has more than 30 years of experience in the grants field. As a state representative for AAGP, Jones will work closely with the AAGP national office and national board members to support AAGP on multiple levels and projects.
CANFIELD — Merrill Lynch said that Raquel Pacheco of its Canfield office has completed the Chartered Retirement Plan Counselor program and received the CRPC designation. The designation is given to those financial advisors that successfully complete the program and examination through College for Financial Planning.
POLAND — For the 15th consecutive year, Duncan’s Bath & Kitchen in Poland has been designated as one of America’s Top 500 Remodelers. The recognition was awarded by Qualified Remodeling Magazine and published in its August 2008 issue. Recipients are chosen based on their previous year’s performance in a number of categories and must also demonstrate sustained success in remodeling installation dollar volume.
YOUNGSTOWN — SCORE Chapter 1112 recently recognized several area businesses at its Salute to Success Banquet. SCORE is a group of retired business executives that provide business counseling. The honorees were Mike and Nancy Landgraff, who opened the Bread Chef, a bakery in Boardman; Steve DeFelice, who opened Sports Cutters, a men’s hair-cutting salon in Boardman; Elliot Giles, who started the Youngstown Youth Flag Football Association; Stephen Hanzely of Youngstown and Lynda Hartwig of Poland, who opened Habitat for Humanity Restore of Mahoning County; Mike Pence, who started Concept-4, a manufacturing company in Salem; and Frank and Mary Ann Carevaglia of Transfer, Pa., who started Weddings and Photography.
