Residents evacuated from Hubbard’s Shadow Run
HUBBARD — Firefighters said they had to evacuate at least 200 residents of Shadow Run Apartments from their homes when fire broke out in the complex shortly after 7 p.m. today.
No one was at home in the apartment where the fire started, and the smoke became so thick in the hallways of the large complex that everyone had to be evacuated, said Fire Chief John Clemente.
One city policeman suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center. No report was available immediately on his condition.
People were allowed to return to their apartments shortly after 9 p.m.
