Michael Davis will finish his life in prison

YOUNGSTOWN — Michael A. Davis has been sentenced to 310 years in prison for the Jan. 23 house fire that killed six members of the Crawford family on the city’s East Side.

Judge R. Scott Krichbaum of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court imposed maximum consecutive sentences this morning of 30 years each for the six aggravated murder counts, totaling 180 years.

The judge also imposed 13 consecutive 10-year prison terms for the 13 aggravated arson counts pertaining to those who escaped from the fire, and firefighters injured battling the blaze.

“Any type of sentence of leniency would truly dishonor the memory of those people you killed,” the judge said. “You deserve to spend the rest of your life in prison. ... I don’t think you should ever get out.”
