Sycamores’ skid extended to 22 by S. Dakota St.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Ryan Berry threw four touchdown passes, including two to Glen Fox, and Kyle Minett ran for two other TDs to lead South Dakota State over Indiana State 49-9 Saturday, extending the Sycamores’ losing streak to 22 games.

Minett’s 1- and 13-yard scoring runs and a Tony Thompson safety gave South Dakota State (4-4, 3-1 Missouri Valley Football Conference) a 16-0 halftime lead.

Fox pulled in Berry scoring passes covering 8 and 39 yards in the third quarter, punctuated by the only touchdown by Indiana State (0-8, 0-4) when a Darrius Gates pass to Jeramie Gray went 42 yards for the score.

S. Illinois 23, Missouri St. 17

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Chris Dieker threw a 51-yard touchdown pass as time expired to lead Southern Illinois.

Dieker, who had 243 yards passing, was nearly sacked by three Missouri State defenders before he escaped and threw the pass to Marc Cheatham who ran untouched into the end zone for the winning score while his teammates streamed onto the field to celebrate as time expired.

Missouri State (3-4, 2-2) tied the game at 17 with 19.8 seconds left on a 26-yard pass from Cody Kirby to Brandon Oliver.

SIU (5-2, 4-1) had to overcome five turnovers, including four in the first half, as it struggled to a 3-0 halftime lead.

N. Dakota St. 25, Illinois St. 7.

NORMAL, Ill. — Tyler Roehl rushed for 229 yards and three touchdowns to lead North Dakota State.

North Dakota State (4-4, 2-3) dominated for the whole of the game, save one touchdown and extra point from Illinois State. Roehl’s touchdown runs stretched 46 yards, 36 yards and 3 yards.
