Mount Union 55, Wilmington 0

WILMINGTON, — Mount Union College senior quarterback Greg Micheli matched his career-high with four touchdowns passing and ran for another score, all in the first half in the Ohio Athletic Conference win over Wilmington. Micheli was 14-of-18 for 264 yards passing and had three runs for 82 yards, including a 60-yard scamper for a score in a first half when the Raiders outgained the Quakers 440-26. Senior running back Nate Kmic had two touchdowns on the ground as he ran 14 times for 94 yards. Junior wide receiver Cecil Shorts III caught two touchdowns as part of a four-catch, 75-yard performance. Mount Union finished with 550 yards of total offense, while the defense held the Quakers to 53 total yards in earning its second-straight shutout. Junior defensive tackle Matt Williamson had a team-high seven tackles and a sack.

Case Western Reserve 50, Hiram 14

HIRAM — The Hiram College football team was defeated by No. 13 nationally-ranked (d3football.com) Case Western Reserve (7-0) in a non-conference game at the Charles A. Henry Field. Case Western Reserve was led by quarterback Ron Whalen, who completed 14-of-20 passes for 219 yards and three TDs, all to wide receiver Tim Cowdrick who had a game-high eight receptions for 81 yards and his three TDs. Bryan Metlesitz caught four passes for a game-high 120 yards and a TD. Defensively, Gian Genovesi led the Spartans with 10 total tackles. Hiram (2-5) was led by senior two-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference quarterback Trevor Henderson, who threw the ball 36 times, completing 21 passes, for 131 yards. Junior QB Lee Sham (Kennedy Catholic) of Hiram threw a 16-yard TD pass to freshman wide receiver D’Andre Evans in the fourth quarter. Sophomore defensive back Nick Haigh recorded a game-high 12 tackles, including eight solo stops, to lead the Terriers.

Bethany 31, Waynesburg 24

BETHANY, W.Va. — Freshman QB Chad Smith threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to sophomore RB Marcus Santini with 1:29 to play and the Bethany defense made it stand by forcing two turnovers in the final 68 seconds at Bison Stadium. The Bison (2-5, 1-4) passing game had another big day, with Smith completing 21-of-38 for 315 yards, his second 300-plus effort in the last three weeks, and three touchdowns. His top targets were junior WR Matt Cruse, who caught seven balls for 105 yards and one score, junior TE Jorge Laboy with six catches for 72 yards and Santini, who finished with five receptions for 89 yards and two scores to tie the Bethany single-game record. On the ground, Eric Walker notched his second 100-yard game of the season with 113 yards on just 14 carries. Junior safety David Abel led Bethany’s defense with 14 tackles.

Thomas More 45, Thiel 14

CRESTVIEW HILL, Ky. — Thomas More College moved within a game of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Championship and a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Playoff berth with the win at The Bank of Kentucky Field. The Saints (6-1, 6-0 PAC) can win the PAC title and advance to the NCAA Division III playoffs by beating W&J next week. Thomas More was led by Kendall Owens, who rushed the ball eight times for 95 yards and two touchdowns and added 41 yards receiving, four yards on kick returns and 18 yards on punt returns for 158 all-purpose yards. Trevor Stellman was nine-of-11 passing for 129 yards and two touchdowns and added eight rushes for 49 yards. Cordario Collier finished the game with 92 yards rushing with two touchdowns on 12 carries and had 10 yard receiving on one catch. Nick Dew had seven catches for 80 yards and two touchdowns.

Geneva 42, Saint Vincent 19

LATROBE, Pa. — Geneva’s football team has been in search of a victory for the past four weeks. The Golden Tornadoes got exactly what they needed, but it came much more difficult than it first appeared. After Geneva took a 28-0 lead, Saint Vincent (1-7) rallied for 19 unanswered points to cut the lead to nine points early in the fourth quarter. Geneva was able to hang on for the win after scoring a pair of late fourth quarter scores. Geneva (2-5) was led by David Girardi who completed 12-for-22 passes for 203 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Matt Barge rushed for 106 yards on 17 carries. Matt Dean chipped in with 82 yards on five carries. Adam Chatlos was Girardi’s favorite target with 97 yards on five receptions. Geneva’s defense was led by Dan Terracciano’s 11 tackles,

Allegheny 27, Kenyon 22

MEADVILLE, Pa. — The Allegheny College defense forced five turnovers while the offense added timely big plays, as the Gators powered to victory at Frank B. Fuhrer Field. Three of Allegheny’s four touchdowns were set up by Kenyon turnovers. The Gators’ only offensive touchdown came via a 60-yard strike from David Strawser to Mark Sutton. In Strawser’s first start of the year, he totaled 14 completions on 22 attempts for 185 yards and a touchdown. Terry Hartford and Pat Kahle each collected five receptions for 69 and 37 yards, respectively, while Sutton contributed two catches for 74 yards and a score. Andy Schleihauf led all Allegheny tacklers with 16 stops.

California (Pa.) 31, Slippery Rock 10

CALIFORNIA, Pa. – Slippery Rock gave sixth-ranked California (Pa.) a stiff challenge before losing in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division game. California (8-1, 6-0) had touchdown drives on three successive second-period possessions. The hosts outgained SRU by a 386-247 total yards margin behind a 212-191 rushing advantage and a 174-56 passing difference. Rock (4-5, 2-4 PSAC West) sophomore running back Ryan Lehmeier rushed for a game-high 141 yards on 13 carries and also completed six of 16 passes for 49 yards with one interception. Senior running back Corey Manfull (United) scored for The Rock on a 4-yard run.
