Jameson Junior Guild offers bazaar experience

TREASURE TROVE: Jameson Junior Guild members Pat Robison and Effie Hamilton select items from the New to You flea market stash in the basement of the hospital’s school of nursing before the Nov. 6 guild bazaar.

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — The Jameson Junior Guild’s annual bazaar will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 6 at Jameson Hospital School of Nursing, 1211 Wilmington Ave. (Route 18).

Included at the event will be the popular New to You flea market, featuring items such as glassware, pots and pans, silverware, knickknacks, small appliances, even radios. Around noon, customers will be allowed to fit as much as they can into a plastic bag for just $1. Chairman is Marty Eichenlaub, and her two committee members are Effie Hamilton and Pat Robison.

Also included

A boutique will offer hand-crafted items including Christmas decorations, embroidered pillows, baby items and colorful ironing-board covers. Chairwomen are Sara Brest and Lois Balph.

As part of a Chinese auction, a large basket of Steelers paraphernalia has been generating much interest and is in the hospital lobby now through the bazaar. The drawing will take place at 2 p.m. at the bazaar’s end. Other popular items are a singing Chihuahua, a big brown bear, a gold watch and a wide assortment of gift baskets. Hostess Shop committee members handling the auction are Norma Vranges, Jean Kaba and Rita Flamino.

Tickets are also being sold in the hospital lobby for an oversized hand-crafted queen-size quilt with pillows, which features a wave pattern in greens and cream. Chairwoman is Judy Martello.

Tables at the bazaar will feature homemade candy as well as a bake sale, used books and Hostess Shop items. Also represented will be Hospice and the Remembrance Fund.

Bazaar chairwomen are Shirley MacMillan and Mary Ann Elsseser. Other chairwomen are Teresa Russo and Norma Frengel, bake sale; Sally Welker and Lois Kulsic, candy; Mary Elkin, Remembrance Fund; Terri Neff and Mary Ann Klee, Danish-Muffin Shoppe; Katherine Hassen and Eleanor Dachko, Jameson Cafe; Teddi Karki and Peggy Byler, used books; and Rita Datillo, Hospice.
