A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman:

Oct. 16

Auto theft: A man rented but failed to return a 2004 Kia to Affordable Car Rental, 8091 Market St.

Criminal damaging: A Ranier Trail woman found damage to her vinyl siding.

Misuse of a credit card: A Youngstown woman, 24, surrendered to police and was charged after a Campbell woman discovered her credit card had been stolen while she was at a South Avenue business and used several times.

Bad check: A 27-year-old man was accused of writing a bad $199.53 check at Hobby Lobby Creative Center, 472 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Stolen property: A 33-year-old Niles man was picked up on a warrant from the township charging him with two counts of receiving stolen property.

Burglary: Two 21-year-old Youngstown men were charged after police, investigating a suspicious person, found that a sliding glass door to a Glenwood Avenue home had been pried open.

Robbery: A Boardman woman told police a man grabbed her purse at a Market Street store and ran.

Theft: A Struthers man, 21, faced charges of theft and possession of drug-abuse instruments. Six items had been stolen from Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road, and a syringe was in his pocket, the report said.

Aggravated menacing: A Willow Drive man reported receiving a call in which the person threatened to come to the accuser’s home and kill him.

Theft: Someone stole $142.75 worth of merchandise from Deals Nothing Over a Dollar, 255 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Burglary: A Mill Creek Drive woman found that someone had entered her apartment through a rear window before removing two TVs and three wristwatches.

Aggravated menacing: An employee with a South Avenue business told officers the husband of a customer threatened to kill the worker regarding repairs to a vehicle.

Bad check: A woman in her mid-30s wrote a $238 check at Carpet & Tile Liquidators, 6224 South Ave., that was returned on a closed account.

Theft: A Willow Drive man accused his roommate of taking a 35 mm camcorder and a computer.

Friday

Assault: A Struthers woman reported being scratched and having her hair pulled while at a Boardman-Canfield Road business.

Theft: A worker of a Doral Drive store discovered her wallet had been stolen from her place of employment.

Theft/damage: Someone took $1,245 worth of tools from a Simon Road church, and a door handle was broken off a vehicle.

Theft: A Glenwood Avenue man reported a laptop computer, a textbook and two other items stolen from his car.

Arrest: Authorities picked up a 50-year-old Prestwick Drive man at his apartment. He was wanted on a felony probation-violation charge.

Theft: A 25-year-old Masury woman was accused of taking a check from a Boardman woman’s purse and cashing it for $295.

Theft: A West Boulevard man’s wallet was missing from his apartment.

Criminal damaging: An air-filled pumpkin decoration was cut and damaged at a residence in the 700 block of Havenwood Drive.

Assault: A Campbell woman had red marks on her right temple after having been struck with a bottle while at the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Two Youngstown females, 13 and 20, faced charges, accused of stealing $600 worth of TracFones and video games from Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road. Both also were given criminal-trespassing warnings.

Saturday

Domestic violence: A 26-year-old Shields Road woman was arrested on a warrant and faced an additional charge of obstructing official business.

Theft: A Warren woman, 28, and a Youngstown woman, 31, were accused in the theft of 24 articles of clothing from Wal-Mart. One of the women also was charged with criminal trespassing, the other with obstructing official business when, police said, she gave a fictitious name.

Theft: A 13-year-old Youngstown boy was charged in the theft of a $250 cell phone from Best Buy.

Theft: Charges of theft and misuse of a credit card were filed against a Boardman boy, 14, after his mother accused the teen of stealing her credit card and, without permission, using it to buy $100 worth of merchandise.

Vandalism: Someone did roughly $1,000 worth of damage to a soccer field near Stratmore Avenue.

Sunday

Aggravated menacing: A Melrose Avenue woman told authorities another woman was on her front porch and had threatened the resident with a gun.

Assault: A Poland man reported that a passenger in a car assaulted him near Melrose Avenue after an auto accident.

Criminal damaging: A Walnut Street man saw that paint balls had been fired at his residence and vehicle.

Theft: A 34-year-old Boardman woman was accused of taking batteries, cat food and candy from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road, and charged.

Theft: Miscellaneous items were stolen from Wal-Mart, leading to a theft count against a 16-year-old Youngstown girl.

Criminal mischief: A Mapleridge Drive man found damage to his vehicle’s driver’s-side door area.

Theft: A $28 pair of children’s shoes was stolen from Payless ShoeSource, 48 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: An East Liverpool woman’s purse was stolen at the Southern Park Mall.

Arrest: A traffic stop near Mill Creek Boulevard led to the arrest of a 38-year-old Boardman man wanted on a warrant from Trumbull County charging him with a probation violation.
