Meatloaf cancels tonight's show

YOUNGSTOWN — Unfortunately for Meat Loaf fans, they’re “all revved up with no place to go.”

That’s because the singer, best known for his “Bat Out of Hell” album, released in 1977, has the flu and had to cancel tonight’s concert at the Chevrolet Centre.

While Meat Loaf will “do anything for love,” when it comes to performing ill, he “won’t do that.”

Eric Ryan, the center’s executive director, said Meat Loaf’s promoters called him about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday about the cancellation.

The concert will be rescheduled for sometime in December, Ryan said. An exact date should be known shortly. All tickets for tonight’s show will be honored at the rescheduled concert, Ryan said.

Tickets sold well for the concert, said Ryan, who wouldn’t say how many were sold.
