The city school board awarded contracts Tuesday for the construction of the Wilson Middle School. Delays encountered in awarding the bids mean the new building may not be ready to open in September 2009. The school may not open until midyear 2009-10.

General Trades: DeSalvo Construction Co. of Hubbard; $6,524,000.

Electrical: Tri-Area Electric Co. of Youngstown; $1,401,937.

Heating, ventilating, air conditioning: York Mahoning Mechanical Contractors of Youngstown; $1,288,000.

Plumbing: Komar Plumbing Inc. of Youngstown; $621,946.

Case work: Stone Creek Interior Systems of Lewis Center, Ohio; $271,300.

Kitchen equipment: S.S. Kemp Co. of Cleveland; $234,500.

Fire protection: S.A. Comunale of Youngstown; $159,500.
